Okay, first thing is to specify exactly which B series engine you're talking about. Most people think of the B18B, B18C, B17A, B16A, or B20z motors that came from the Integra, Civic, and CRV chassis. This is the most common B series engines. However, there is an oddball B series from the 90-91 Prelude called a B20 which, although shares the "B" code, is totally unlike the common b-series motors listed above. The componants from this prelude b series motor are not at all compatible with the other b series. So on to your question: will a prelude mount to a b-series motor? Well, if it's the B20 that came out of the 90-91 Prelude - then obviously yes. But if you're asking if you can mount a prelude tranny to a B18B, B18C, B17A, B16A, or B20z - then no.
If the 96 Transmission is a 5speed and the 2001 prelude is a 5speed, the mount from the 2001 Transmission should bolt up to the 96 Transmission and be a Direct Bold on Replacement.
i have a 1970 dodge dart with a slant 6, 225 and need to know if a 318 out of 1970 dodge dart will mount up with the motor mounts and tranny.
Worn motor and/or tranny mount.
Yes it will fit, all of the twin cam third gen preludes 1988-1991 have the same motor config. You can even put the fourth gen vtec prelude motors in the third gen chassis with mount kits.
Not going to work.
if its a auto put it in and out of drive and reverse while somone watches the motor if it does not move your motor mount is good then doin the same thing watch the trany if its a standard put on e brake and and let the cluch out half way and keep pushing it in and out and samething watch the motor and the tranny or just go under and check with a pry bar
On top of the tranny where the 2nd motor mount is disconnect battery and take out bolts
Not without custom motor mount work. Even then, the B series is smaller and has less power than the H series that go into the prelude which means your car will be slow and have terrible mileage. You can drop in an F22 which will be smaller in displacement but still won't have the kind of power the H motor will.
it is a fairly simple swap motor mounts should be the same you can use the same tranny if you like or not mounts are the same
possible motor mount problem, when you turn the steering wheel- the wheels line up at a differant height and if the motor mount is totally shot then this cause the motor to bind with the tranny and or front axels depending on the car
well it depends on which one you are trying to take off there is four well 3 on the motor and 1 on the top of tranny
The gears in the tranny diff. Is shot. Is it a. A131l tranny. Thay have 2 place to fill. One in the middle of the tranny and the other on the back of the tranny. Where the cvc shafts go into the tranny by the rear motor mount.
