∙ 16y agoA blood test can show when an ectopic pregnancy may be present. If the levels of hCG remain stable over days, then it is a strong possibility. An ultrasound would then be necessary to confirm the diagnosis. The levels may also fall and they also do this if a baby has died in utero. In a normal pregnancy, hCG levels rise consistently and the fact that the level rises is more important than the actual level.

∙ 16y agoYes, as long as there is a pregnancy, anywhere in the body, a urine based pregnancy test will prove possitive, simply because the body is producing a hormone that will help your baby grow, regardless of where it is placed. But, if a tubal pregnancy is in place, the embryo should be removed because the tube bursts and causes extream pain and/or death by loss of blood if not treated soon enough.

∙ 14y agoNo, no matter where the baby is, you are still carrying the pregnancy hormone. You can however, have a false negative from many factors. Also, if you take the test too soon, you may also get a false positive. If you are concerned or worried, you should see a doctor immediately.
