While Xanax immediate release and Xanax Xr are the same compound, it's important to note that the half life of Xanax Xr is 10.7-15.8 hours while immediate release Xanax is 11.2 hours. to answer the question point blank... yes, it will test higher levels if taken at the same dose regiment. Since the half life is longer than six hours, the time release in Xanax is included into the compound, not added additionally to the compound leading me to believe it is self sustained.
