There are intake manifolds designed for high hp, intakes designed for best torque, and intakes intended to give the best of both worlds. If you want to use your engine in a different way than your intake was designed for, then yes an aftermarket intake can add hp in your rpm range. As far as carbs go, if the carb is properly sized and tuned to the engine, then it wouldn't matter what brand you're working with. The difference is in the tuner. If you are better with Carter than you are with Holley, go with what you know.
carb, cam, intake, headers, heads, msd igntion, or a 350
Probably not. Unless the previous intake and carb were not functioning properly.
The passageway provides heat to pull off the choke. If the carb you're using relies on that heat source, you'll need to add the restrictors to the intake gaskets.
Clean out the carb and add a high flow air filter
No because the aftermarket air intake systems don't add anything to your car except a porous filter that sucks up more dirt than air and damages your engine
aftermarket intake (K&N, for example) and aftermarket exhaust system are the two easiest ways. you could also... install a turbo or supercharger use a 'powerchip' type computer upgrade
It was not built with one. There are aftermarket add on kits available. It was not built with one. There are aftermarket add on kits available.
A bare Chevy 350 engine block weighs about 200 to 250 pounds. When you add in the crankshaft, camshaft, headers, and the intake it is more like 500 to 550 pounds.
Yes, they are availble from the aftermarket.Yes, they are availble from the aftermarket.
You can add a factory unit or aftermarket.
none, unless the old carb wasn't working properly.
God, where to start? there are a LOT of things you can do to add horsepower. How much money are you looking to spend? here's a list of things you can do: cold air intake, swapping exhaust manifolds to headers, changing to a high flow exhaust system, turbo/supercharger, nitrous, aftermarket computer chips, lightweight camshaft gears, bigger camshafts, bigger engine, aftermarket clutch, aftermarket torque converter, etc.etc.etc.etc. There's a helluva lot you can do. It's all in how much money you wanna spend. Agreed. LT headers/cold air intake/catback/tune REALLY wake these bad boys up though
