It's all about sealing the leftovers from air. Either will work well enough if closed properly, but it may be that the plastic wrap can be put on more tightly. That may make a difference. A clean produce bag works well, too. And one can put a straw inside and draw out the air before twisting the top to close it. Not too much overkill there, but merely the application of a bit of thought. Doesn't take long. And it's air around food that kills the taste. Bon appétit!

The rate at which water freezes depends on the thermal conductivity of the container. Plastic is generally not very thermally conductive, whereas aluminum foil is more thermally conductive. Thus, as long as the foil is not very much thinner than the plastic, the water will freeze faster in the foil.
I have found that brick cheese, such as Tillamook Cheddar cheese keeps better if wrapped in aluminum foil vs plastic wrap or a plastic baggie.

As long as you put it in plastic wrap and put in a glad container and you will be able to thaw it out and cook it whenever you want to. The Honey Baked FAQ suggests tightly wrapping it in foil and sealing it in a plastic bag before freezing. It also says to use it within 30 days. See Related Links.
