People commenting on the way people look with braces is nothing new. Sadly, it is likely that at some point somebody may say something but there isn't much you can do about it.
Don't fret about it, a few names here and there are easy to ignore. Just remember, your doing this for you so that when you are older you will have nice straight teeth. The people who called you names when you had braces aren't going to be in your life forever but if you don't get your teeth fixed there could be more comments.
If it gets really bad speak to an adult about it and keep your head held high. Bullying isn't acceptable but is sadly a part of everyday life.

yes you have to have braces on if your teeth are bad or less your teeth will move alone and your mouth will be weird

Braces do not hurt at all when they are glued onto your teeth. And don't listen to anyone who says they do. Sure it feels a bit weird but there is no pain! :)

you can get fake braces from most Halloween costume shops and such. you know those weird gummy braces you can that make it look like your teeth are rotting? same idea, only these ones have fake braces attached to the plastic.

when i needed space in my teeth before braces, they put spacers between my teeth, little blue circles, feels weird the first day, the second day it hurts in the morning, and you feel very fine the third day

Sleep. That's honestly it. At first, braces will feel weird, but eventually you won't even notice them.

Oh yes. Braces = expect discomfort, ulcers, sore lips cut in your mouth and on your tongue and getting food stuck in them. Take some mild headache pills for the discomfort and expect after most adjustments. I'm not trying to scare you or be mean its just they way it is. Braces are hard work and after a few months our teeth will look alot straighter. I bet they feel weird don't they. Hope this helps. Sekhmet

braces are worth having. they make your teeth straight and giv u a good smile. they can look a bit weird but nuthings gonna change about u nd the sooner uget them on the sooner u hav perfect teeth. keep urself busy so the time goes quickly, be positive, hav fun, visit the orthadontist regularly. yes , thy r gud. I tottaly agree with the answer above! I have to have a brace soon , and you know what , i cant wait! Yes , they do look different to normal , not weird , not horrible , DIFFERENT. Having a brace isn't so good at the time , but just think how wonderful your teeth are going to be at the end of it. Dont let braces bring you down , have fun! Its only metal ;)
Why do your braces feel weird when you drink cold water?
Because the wire is made of metal, and when metal is warm it stretches out, but when its rapidly changed to a cold temperature, (from the cold water), the metal contracts and gets tighter, causing your braces to pull on your teeth a little bit.
