I have been on this for 7 days now and have had no symptoms of IBS-D while on it. I can't remember the last time I went 7 days without any problems before trying this.

I am cautiously optimistic, although in the past I have thought things were working after a few days only for symptoms to return.

I would most definitely give it a try - nothing to lose.

11/18/10 - I have been taking Cholestyramine powder for my IBS since March of this year after suffering from very frequent bouts of IBS symptoms for the last 4 years. I recently moved to Florida and went to my Mother's gastro doctor and he prescribed this for me. The results were immediate! Since taking this, I've only had maybe 2 episodes of IBS but they still weren't as severe as before I started this medicine. I would advise anyone suffering from IBS to consult with the doctor and mention this drug and see if it's right for them. My life has changed since starting on this medicine and I'm not confined to my house just so I can be close to a bathroom if and when I need. It has given my freedom back to go out and do things and eat more of the things I like and had to give up previously. What a great find in this doctor and his foresight to prescribe this medicine to me!!!!
