Your 1992 Ford Mustang GT has the 5.0 liter V8 engine with dual exhaust so it has ( 2 mufflers )
Mufflers are used on cars because if they have one that makes their pipes loud then everyone will think that they have a big engine under the hood and actually they could have just a lil 4 cyl. Another thing why people put mufflers on there cars is because it gets rid of the nasty fuems that comes out of the engine.
Its a long way from the tail pipe to the engine but I have seen mice build their nest inside mufflers and create a blockage.
it could make it run rough bucause of the o2 sensor but its not going to hurt the motor other than running rough and use more gas
Only if they are clogged and creating exhaust back-pressure.
If you mean two mufflers on one pipe then one (closer to the engine) is a resonator to help reduce the sound and keep the back pressure so the engine can work more effective, although most replacement exhausts dont have them....they mainly just keep it quieter...but who wants that?? LOL
horn, engine, flat tire, muffler,springs
It won't hurt the engine but it will hurt the catalytic converter.
It would be a louder world without mufflers.
Dual tailpipes help pull the exhaust away from the engine more quickly, thus avoiding any kind of pressure back-up, especially in a high-output smaller engine. A tailpipe needs a muffler; two tailpipes=two mufflers
