Yes dry cleaning can kill bed bugs. From my experience, I had bed bugs all over my linens, sheets, pillow cases, even some of my clothes! I took it to get them dry cleaned because I found out that bed bugs die if you wash the infested articles in hot water at at least 120F. After you wash the infested articles you will need to take extra pre-caution to eliminate those already in the house that might be hiding in cracks and crevices, joints of bed frames, on the grooves of the head board, under your box springs, etc. etc.

I treated for bed bugs 3-4 times in 2 weeks. I repeated the process again. I used this spray called Steri-Fab and sprayed it on my mattress and on box springs. I vacuumed my mattress and box spring after I allowed it to dry. I also used dust, which is a pesticide dust, such as Delta Dust, into the cracks and crevices of my home which will prevent them from coming into my home.

Do not use dust where children play.

After I treated my mattress and box springs, I used Allerzip Protect-A-Bed mattress encasement, Protect-A-Bed box spring cover and Protect-A-Bed pillow case to prevent future bed bug infestation. These encasement, box cover, and pillow case prevents moisture from building up and traps the bed bugs causing them to die from lack of food and hiding place.

Can 70 percent ethanol kill the bed bugs?

If you submerge bed bugs in 70% ETOH solution, it will kill them. However, if you just apply it to a surface, and expect it to kill bed bugs that crawl over it, that won't work. The ethanol will evaporate quickly, and once it's dry, it's not effective in killing much, although it might do an okay job repelling bed bugs for a little while, but ethanol isn't a safe chemical to expose humans to.

Will bleach kill bed bug eggs?

Sure Bleach will kill them, if applied to them or a small amount of bleach in an enclosed space will kill the ones in that space. However the thing is, bed bugs feed on people so normal eating pesticides won't work. Alcohol in an enclosed space will work on any bugs. Soak a cotton ball with alcohol and let it kill the bugs, then you have a perfect non-squashed specimen. To get rid of bed bugs you'll need to get a matress bag, to trap them in, dry everything you can get in the dryer on hot for at least 10 min. best to dry bedding everyday.

Can you wash your body to get rid of bed bugs on you?

You need to wash clothing (preferably on hot) and dry it (preferably on hot). Hot wash/dry will kill all bed bug stages and eggs. Experts say you can also use dry cleaning but make sure the dry cleaner uses traditional methods (PERC) NOT newer, "green" methods which may not kill bed bugs. Also, if you go to a laundromat or dry cleaner, do not take your infested clothing there unless sealed in an airtight plastic bag.

Understanding the Symptoms of Bed Bugs?

How to Identify Bed Bug BitesBed bugs have increasingly become a problem in many homes, hotel rooms, dormitories and similar places. Experiencing beg bugs in your living quarters can make for an aggravating experience. Bed bugs typically bite you while you are sleeping. Bed bugs have a reddish brown color and are small in size. Bed bugs often hide in furniture, the cracks of beds, clothing, box springs and head boards. Bed bugs feed on human blood and can be difficult to exterminate. The bugs often appear in used furniture, and are transported from one place to another because they latch on to clothes and luggage.Symptoms of Bed BugsSometimes it is hard to notice you have bed bugs until you experience bed bug bites. The actual appearance of a bed bug bite does not occur in some people until days after they have been bitten. When symptoms finally occur, beg bug bites can appear as little red bumps that are lined up in rows or patches. The bites are often misdiagnosed by individuals and doctors as mosquito bites. The exact symptoms of bed bug bites vary per person. For some individuals, itchy welts may appear on the skin. Bed bugs usually do not pass infectious diseases, and are not considered a serious threat to an individual's health. Although bed bugs do not transmit diseases, they are not something you want to live with in your home.Getting Rid of Bed BugsTo find bed bugs, dismantle your bed and all of the components. You may need to remove the gauze lining of your box spring to reach them. The best way to get rid of bed bugs is to call a professional exterminator who has the chemicals needed to kill bed bugs. Until an exterminator comes to treat your home, you can use alcohol to kill visible bed bug eggs. You can use a device that produces steam to clean furniture, drapes, carpet and similar items. Vacuum your carpet and wash the bed linens and clothes that you believe contain bed bugs. Dry the garments at a minimum of 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
