I'm really sad to say it will indeed. I love love love to eat lemons and ate them all throughout my childhood on a daily basis. Eventually, most of my enamel eroded away and I got 14 cavities (most of them between my teeth). I am now no longer allowed to eat lemons, my favorite food ever. :'-(
occassional consumption of acidic beverages do not cause any significant harm to teeth. but frequent regular consumption of not only lemon juice any soft drinks can lead to a condition called erosion.
I do not no if it does or does not beause I am only in 6th grade
Because it has a high acid content which can wear down the enamel (protective and outer coating) on your teeth.
no its not good for your teeth. lemonaid has sugar in it which causes decay. pretty much anything (besides water) will cause decay.
yes :P it is very acidic
the acid
It's perfectly safe to eat them, but the citric acid will wear away the enamel on your teeth. I suppose too many of them could eventually hurt your stomach lining too. I don't imagine there's much you can do, other than brush your teeth right after eating them.I know that the dentist who puts braces on your teeth will tell you that eating lemons is a No No! Because it will strip the enamel on your teeth and where the braces are it will make little black marks! So, if you don't have braces, you can eat them in moderation. That is, if your stomach tells you to stop, then listen. You can of course brush your teeth after eating them to counteract the acid on your teeth. As for your stomach Lemons are a natural fruit, but very high in acid and therefore the problems that a few, not all, people have in eating them. it is not weird to eat lemons plain. for years people eat lemons plain as a weight loss trick. not only does it curb your appetite but the juice from the lemon helps to absorb fat.
The hard material on the outside of your teeth is called enamel. Eating lemons can remove the enamel, and you don't want to do that.
Lemons are a citrus fruit and contain vitamin C. However, there are no examples of lemons being specifically helpful in cancer patients. Also, lemons are very harmful to the enamel on teeth, so eating them in quantity can cause damage to the teeth.
yes, they just generally hurt as they are creating a gap between your teeth. on average your gums will swell up and you will have trouble eating.
Lemons are a good source of Vitamin C. However, sucking on lemons can do severe damage to your teeth. The enamel can be literally washed away over time because the acid in the lemons is quite powerful.
Eating lemons is very good for your health (e.g. they have loads of vitamin C) but they can be bad for your teeth (e.g. acid). Personally I love to eat lemons, but many people don't.
Basically a build up of plaque which is bacteria eat away at your teeath you only get this in concentraations from eating junk food, brushing your teeath removes this... Sam c Jones
Eating foods with too many acids (lemons, sour candy, etc.) is bad for your teeth and will wear them away over a period of time.
No
yep.
yes but not hurt your teeth
They can not die of eating lemons, although it is very surprising.
