No, you need to speak to the Gods of Metal first.
If you are using the correct type of piercing equipment, you should not have to numb your tongue at all. Numbing the area before piercing could affect the healing process, and leave more opportunity to become infected. It is best to get a piercing done professionally, but if you are piercing at home, be sure to use the right sterile needles and tools. There should be little to no pain, making numbing unnecessary.
A tip is to suck on ice for an hour before the piercing, it will help to numb it.
No
No, I don't think so.
none of the piercing shops that ive heard of numb you for a naval piercing i got mine when i was 13 and it doesnt hurt it feels like a pinch and then its over you just have to breathe
Numbness is definitely not normal. I suggest that you go and see a doctor to figure out what is going on.
The piercer won't numb your cartilage before piercing it.
i have a numb tonuge
I have a pretty bad pain tolerance , and tounge apparently hurts less then a lip. I got my lip done and it didn't hurt! You don't need numbing , just relax . It only pinches a little bit!
No way that's nerve damage for your own sake get it removed immediately. Get to the doctor now . I am one. _________ One thing the "doctor" didn't think of is trauma. Sometimes, your brain will block pain completely by making a certain area of your body numb. I would wait a day or two but if feeling does not come back I would remove the piercing and then wait another day or two and if still no feeling then you need to see a doctor.
Honestly, it should not be necessary to numb the tongue at all to pierce it if you have it done by a licensed piercer. Depending on exactly what you're using to accomplish a temporary local anesthesia, it may complicate matters further. Imagine what sort of damage you'll do to yourself if you get a piece of metal put into your tongue without being able to feel it.
Don't try piercing it yourself. Get a professional to pierce it for you. I've added a picture for you to look at, sorry it's blurry, it's basically a woman who tried to pierce her own tongue. Don't wan't to EPIC fail? Get it done proffesionally!
