It depends... Gear Box probably won't make Halo the way Bungie did but, a former Bungie employee is at the head of Gear Box.
In my opinion, Halo will never be same and Bungie has done just about everything, like in ODST, every mission you're a different character, or 3, Master Chief and the Arbiter, and finally Reach, a fully customizable character, firefight, forge, etc.
Gear Box will have to be creative if they want to keep Halo alive.
