No. A homeowners policy is the most comprehensive policy you can buy and at a very reasonable price for the coverage but maintenance on the house is not covered and certainly not maintenance on the yard. As a homeowner you will have expenses relating to the maintenance of your home for as long as you own the home. This is part of home ownership. Homeowners insurance is for events that cannot be foreseen and that are sudden and accidental. This covers fire, theft, vandalism, windstorm, lightning, weight of ice and snow, vehicle collision, etc. Plus you have coverage for property off premises, liability coverage on and off premises, and many other coverages. As a matter of full disclosure, I own and operate a small Independent Insurance Agency for the past 22 years and worked as an agent for direct writers for 3 years prior to that.
