No it wont hurt anything,as long as you wait till it stops rolling to put in in park.. Ive done it a million times..
My truck did that once or twice. Both times it was because the fuse had blown that powers the brake lights. I did also find out that if you shut the truck off and turn the key on that you can get it into netrual, then you can start the truck and move it.

When you get there, you park your truck in an icon that has a wrench and some tools. You shut your truck off, set the parking brake (space), and press "enter" on the keyboard. You can then choose everything you want fixed, then click "okay." Then exit, and you're truck will be like new.
