extend the battery to avoid to turn on the flashlight by accident, or contaminate the tube once leak. So some flashlights need to lock or remove the battery to conserve. Like IMALENT SA04 uses 4 *AA batteries, this is easy to buy this size if can not find the original ones and with the lock function to keep flashlight clear and long runtime for both of battery and flashlight.
