Not likely, sounds like your clutch disc needs rebuilt or replaced.
Transmission fluid will do work for your clutch my friend no worries here.
On a 2001 Ford Mustang the clutch is operated by a cable , so it does not have a clutch fluid reservoir like a hydraulic clutch
If it is like the ( 1996 ) Ford Escort : The BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR is also the CLUTCH FLUID RESERVOIR
Check your clutch slave cylinder fluid level it looks like a mini brake fluid bottle
not if its the same as my 84 the fluid compartment by left hand is for brake fluid and behind clutch handle there is 2 wires going in means its electric clutch like mine right now im trying to figure out how to adjust it to get more clutch
changing clutch in 1994 ford ranger ===================================================================== If it is like the ( 1996 ) Ford Ranger The clutch fluid reservoir is in the engine compartment , it is between the Power Distribution Box and the drivers side fender , It takes DOT 3 brake fluid
It usually sits directly over or near by to the top of the clutch push rod assembly. It will say something like use only dot approved brake fluid. Good luck. On the 93-98 Probes, there is no designated "clutch fluid" reservior. It shares the brake fluid reservoir. You'll notice a rubber tube from the side of the brake fluid which feeds brake fluid down to the master clutch cylinder.
clutch fluid. Small reservoir looking like the brake overflow reservoir only about 1/3 the size.
The clutch fluid on the manual transmission is actually shared with the brake system. Like each brake caliper, the clutch has its own bleed screw located between the engine and the firewall. Simply follow the same process for bleeding the brakes by purging the fluid starting with the rear brake calipers, then the clutch and lastly the front brake calipers.
Its not your transmission fluid. If you have a clutch it is probably going bad. You can check your clutch master cylinder fluid in the engine compartment. It is just like your brake master cylinder. Chiltons has repair manuals at the library I think. Or the manual in your car should show you where it is.
put gum on it sounds like the clutch cylander is leaking.u need to either replace or rebuild the cylander then bleed the clutch for proper operation
its in the engine bay next to your brake master cylinder its the tube like cylinder that says dot3 fluid
