It is not recommended to take any medication past the expiration date that is printed on it. The Metronidazole will have a date on it. After that date, it could be dangerous to take the medication and it probably won't work to help the person at all.

Amoxicillin and metronidazole are to be taken in combination for a sinus infection. If plain amoxicillin does not work, a formulation with clavulanic acid such as augmentin should be used with metronidazole.
They will not be harmful, they will either still be good or if they really are expired they will simply not work or not work as well as they used to.
Imitrex can be a dangerous drug, causing death if taken incorrectly. Thus I cannot recommend taking it when the drug is expired. Once I did accidentally give myself an expired Imitrex stat dose shot (expired by about 6 months) and nothing happened to me.
