Durango will not move from park to drive?
The " park " position is not a drive gear , you select the " park " position when you don't want the vehicle to move , and it also allows you to remove the ignition key

If you cannot move the shifter out of the park position then you have a problem with the shifter cable or the brake safety lock. If you can move the shifter to the drive position, and it doesnt go in gear then you are a few quarts low on transmission fluid

Are you saying that the gear shifter will not move from park to drive or that when you shift to drive the vehicle will not move? We need more info.
Your selector should be in the neutral position. Select 4WD H, and move selector into drive. Your light should stay on. If the light is turning off, you may have a problem with the actuator or hubs. Sometimes going from Park to Drive, your 4WD will disengage.
