One does not usually ingest radioactive isotopes, however if one did I expect the initial effect (if you were not poisoned by the elements concerned) would be to for the radiation (alpha or beta) damage the tissues in contact with the isotopes. This would cause them to bleed and the blood would indeed cause the stool to be dark. However, that would be just the start of your problems.
Iron, at least, certainly can (it may also cause greenish stool).
Iron pills will make your stools very dark in color, almost black.
I have black stool, but I am not sure if it is from Sucralfate!! Can a medical profession or pharmacist answer my question?
If blood appears dark, that is an indicator that it is not fresh. If a person is seeing dark blood in their urine or stool, they should see a doctor immediately. It is possible that there is a serious problem.
Melena means dark stool, usually referring to black and tarry stool due to bleeding higher in the digestive tract.

I think it does. I have been taking Milk Thistle regularly for about a week and my stool is very black. I don't know if this is normal. I can't find a straight answer on the Internet either.
we were told by our clinical instructor that one reason no dark colored foods are given to a patient with dengue is that they're watching for signs of bleeding which may be seen in the stool and urine. dark colored foods cause these stuff to also become dark in color and to determine if it is due to the food or blood, a test like stool exam has to be performed..
is green stool a symptom of colon cancer
Not the modern variety but some of the older ones used the element Radium to generate the light and Radium is radioactive and can cause cancer.
That is one possibility.
Not if it is radioactive or you are an alien
