At least one version of an Artificial Intelligence mentioned this to its programmers in an aside. Of course, none of them have passed all of the tests that would allow robots to create their own society.

It may be indicating that people need to be protected from themselves (as suggested even earlier than 1967 when it was the subject of a humorous Star Trek episode about androids, called I, Mudd). It is possible that machines, for whatever reasons, might treat humans the way we have treated animals: perhaps benevolently, perhaps not. Science Fiction stories are replete with robots and other artificial life trying to do away with us, their creators.

But like the horse and other beasts of burden, humans could prove to be indispensable for their ingenuity in dealing with the unknown. Only if we neared the level of extinction could breeding in captivity be deemed a necessary evil.

I think Robots are helpful because they help carry heavy things for the army, and help firefighters put out fires. Robots have one thing in common, they all help humans. Robots can also help find people after an earthquake or a tornado. Robots help people carry things. My opinion is that robots are helpful
