not necessarily... some spirits may just touch your hair or touch your shoulder. but the main thing is not to freak out. some spirits are friendly and help you like watching you at night that could just being them protecting you from harmful spirits.
All you have to do is get a voice recorder and a buddy (if your alone) and just ask questions. don't be said if you can't hear them replying cause you still have the tape recorder to listen to yet :) you probably no what i mean by that.
But... sometimes its the other way around. You cold experience this:
- Objects getting hurled at you
- violet slaps across the face
- scratching you
- pulling no your hair hard
- very hard pushes and nudges
this things can happen but you need to find out what it want first and don't be afraid

Alcohol is dangerous for all people, even children. Spirits (Ghosts) are figments of imagination, ghost stories can scare children, especially children who already have psychological issues, so yes spirits in this sense could theoretically harm children.

Alcohol is used to kill bacteria, but that is not the sort of spirits you mean I guess. There are only spirits in your imagination. They cannot harm you if you ignore them. Read better books.

Can you believe in ghost and spirits and not believe in God?
As a person who neither believes in ghosts and spirits nor God, I can still see it as a rational possibility to believe in ghosts and spirits but not God - just as it is rationally possible to believe in God but not ghosts and perhaps not even spirits. It is also possible to believe in ghosts and spirits as well as other gods, but not the abrahamic God. It is up to you what you believe, as long as you can rationalise your own beliefs and do no harm to others. Yes, you can believe in Ghosts (or spirits) and not of god. I have had experienced with Ghost [Energy] but not of a god.
