The important thing is that you are taking your prescribed dose of Wellbutrin and consuming caffeine with some moderation.?Of course, if you are concerned, the safest thing is always to consult with your physician or pharmacist.~I have had issues when it comes to drinking coffee. ?Any heavy coffee drinker on a higher dose of Wellbutrin should definitely try not to overdo it. ?6 cups of coffee and 300mg of Wellbutrin aren't really a good mix. ?If you notice adverse effects, always notify your physician. ?I had a lot of muscle tension, most of which went away when I slowed down on the coffee. ?Soda on the other hand should not be an issue.

Yes. They are from different drug classes and have different effects. Wellbutrin is an anti-depressant of the Dopamine Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor class. Ativan is an anxyolitic drug and is a benzodiazepine. I use this combination - wellbutrin daily, and ativan as needed for anxiety and insomnia. It works well. --- Update: I must disagree with the answer above (whoever wrote it). If you look up Bupropion (a.k.a. Wellbutrin) on Wikipedia, then scroll down to "Contraindications", it states clearly that Wellbutrin should not be taken with any type of benzodiazepine (which is what Lorazepam - a.k.a. Ativan - is). So you should absolutely talk this over with a doctor instead of asking the internet. You might just get an "I don't see why not" guess from someone who may not truly know the answer. Bottom line - talk to your doctor before taking those two together!

I would never take Effexor again. To wean off of it, you should ask your dr. to lower the dose. I heard that taking prozac for a few weeks can help get off of effexor. Doctors should use ECT treatments, that reset your brain sometimes, because that actually works. Very few anti-depressants work, maybe prozac. I guess it depends on the individual person what works.

Effexor XR increases serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain. Serotonin makes people sleepy, and norepinephrine wakes them up. Since everybody's brain is wired differently, Effexor might make one person sleepy while waking up another person. Sleep apnea is a disorder in which a person stops breathing over and over again during the night. Because of this, the person does not get a restful sleep. As a consequence, during the day he is very sleepy. Some people with sleep apnea are so sleepy during the day that they doze off while driving their cars. Thus, sleep apnea is a potentially fatal disease. Sleep apnea can be treated with CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure), a device which has a mask which is worn all night long, and keeps the person's throat open with air pressure so that the person does not stop breathing while sleeping. If a patient is taking Effexor, and it tends to make that particular patient sleepy, and the patient has sleep apnea, and the sleep apnea is not being treated, then the Effexor is potentially dangerous for that patient to take. It will make him even more sleepy during the day, and might even increase the frequency of his apneic episodes during the night. If Effexor makes the patient more alert, on the other hand, it might be beneficial. However, Effexor does not affect the mechanism that causes the person to stop breathing during the night. So it is not a treatment for sleep apnea.

What is a Wellbutrin high like?
I'm no expert, but I've been taking wellbutrin for almost a year. I wouldn't call wellbutrin a "high." I have always been a pretty emotional person, but once I got to college and had actual stressors in my life, it kept taking me longer and longer to snap out of moods caused by everyday conflicts. Wellbutrin -and counseling- has allowed me to see conflicts without immediately reacting with emotion. Instead I react with reason, and decide how I should feel once I assess the situation. It's not really an upper, or a downer. It delays emotional response without having a numbing affect. Some people report having jitters, but I never have. I took celexa and then lexapro for awhile, and those gave me bizarre jittery side-effects - I would describe it as constantly feeling like you have to stretch. Wellbutrin really worked for me, but be warned. High doses of Wellbutrin - or even regular doses, depending on the person - can cause seizures. I had one recently and now have to look for something else that works just as well. :(

The painkillers are unlikely to have any interaction. Wellbutrin interacts with the other three, increasing their effects. Wellbutrin will increase the stimulant effect of coke and the amphetamine effects of Ecstasy (but not the serotonin effects), so if you take normal doses of them you might have problems with sweating or chills, racing heartbeat, panic attacks, twitches, muscle spasms, disorientation, seizures, or death. By 'might', I mean 'probably some of that'. If you must take them, start with a quarter of a dose. If none of the things above happen, try a half dose the next week. Also, because Wellbutrin prevents the re-uptake of norepinephrine, if you do overstimulate yourself the only way for your brain to keep you from dying is to break down all your norepinephrine, which will plunge you into depression for a week or so, but it goes away.
