The SPCA and ASPCA are sometimes forced to put healthy animals down because they do not have the space to keep all of the stray animals they find. There are some no-kill shelters that will not kill any animals that they receive though.

sadly the animals at the rspca that are not wanted are put down. Or they get shifted to other pet shops or they get advertised to see if people who don't visit the rspca want them.

It would be best to put the dog down. If you let the dog die you would have to be the dog in so much pain. You would be helping the dog if you put it down and you put the dog out of its misery.
