How do you install a car stereo in a 2002 Cavalier Future Shop told me it needs to be rewired for 150 or else the air bags might deploy on top of installation?
Ignore this garbage about power locks and air bags malfunctioning that shops give you about installing an aftermarket radio. The only thing that happens when you install an aftermarket radio on 3rd generation Cavaliers is you lose the chime when the lights are on, door ajar, key in ignition. Air bags are controlled by their own module, not the radio or even the BCM.

I own a 2001 Lincoln town car and i had a problem where the "air suspension" light was on in the instrument cluster and the rear end started to sag. turns out the air bags were leaking and the air compressor is designed to turn off in this situation to prevent the compressor from burning up. I ended up replacing the rear air bags with a coil spring kit which i found new for around $300 versus the more expensive new air bags. The ride was not noticably sacrificed but the "air suspension" light ramins on in the instrument cluster.

There is a problem with the SRS. Not a DIY repair. Get this fixed immediately. Air bag could deploy at any time, or not at all. The previous poster was right, fix or have it fix'd asap. the air bags could deploy when not expected or not deploy when needed. on late 90's models there are 3 air bag sensors. 2 in the bumper and 1 at the air bag. usually the flashing light when you turn on your vehicle is flashing a certain number of times providing a code that should tell you what sensor is failed or failing. they usually fail due to a short to power or ground. I have not yet found the code sheet to be able to tell which code is what, but believe the sensor in the sirbag is a dealer repair only. the ones in the bumper are easy enough to replace on your own. It means there is a problem with the SRS. Take it to a professional. Working on the SRS is not a DIY job. Serious injury can occur.

Can the SRS light be reset?
The SRS light is on because there is a problem with the air bags! This problem could be fatal! So have the car scanned and find out what is wrong. Fix it. The light should go out on its own, if not the same place that scanned it can clear the fault and turn out the light. Auto parts store Like Auto Zone or Auto Value will scan for free.

it might be a computer problem. or it could use a service, the air bag cable tends to get loose on 05's, do you use it rough or play nice?

What do you mean by "it"? If you mean, is it better to use your own bags versus using paper or plastic bags, then the answer is "yes." Canvas bags are the environmentally friendliest kind of bags to use, and those made from scrap canvas or organic cotton are best, in my opinion.
