will the electric fans stay on after you turn engine off on a 1998 deville 4.6L
The fans are electric and do not have a belt The fans are electric and do not have a belt The fans are electric and do not have a belt
this car does not have a fan clutch they are electric fans
I know ur fans kick-in @ 222 degress. Hope that helps
Front left of engine. Behind radiator and fans, halfway down
the fan relays are located below the fans at the center of the radiator at the bottom
It is probably your cooling fans. These are electric and may run with the engine turned off. It is probably your cooling fans. These are electric and may run with the engine turned off.
there is no fan belt for that car. the fans are electric
Open the hood and look at the inside of the radiator towards the engine, If you see 1 or 2 fans that are mounted on brackets with small electric motors on them right in the front of the engine then you have electric fan /fans. If it's not electric then it will have a BELT that drives it on the front of the engine. And it will be 1 big fan.
the fans are operated by means of a series of relays which are turned on or off by the engine computer. the engine coolant temp sensor that sends its signal to the engine computer is what indirectly turns on the fans. if there is no check engine light for a coolant temp. sensor code, the problem lies in the fans themselves, or the relays and related wiring.
well there no need to diagnose overheating, 260 is overheating big time. U have to find out why its overheating. Could be low coolant, a stuck thermostat, a clogged dirty coolant system, bad fan clutch, or if u have electric fan make sure they are coming on. if the fans don't come on, could be a fuse, the fan motor, a temp sensor, or a relay. With the ac on the fans should be running no matter what if it has electric fans. As soon as the ac come on the fans should turn on and stay running. if there not something is wrong.
The cooling fans will run when there is a signal calling for them to come on. High temps will do that. Also anytime the ac is on, a fan will run. Try turning the ac off and see if one of the fans stop. Do this when the engine is cold. If the fans run anyway, check your fan relays, they may be stuck on.
Either bad ground on your gauge or your electric cooling fans are going bad.
