All contour svt 's were 5 speed manual transmissions. No transmission dipstick.
I was looking at the 1998 and 2000 Contour SVT supplements and in both it shows the 2.5 liter V6 engine
I was looking at one of Fords websites and it shows : For a 1998 Ford Contour SVT , 2.5 litre V6 engine : ( the Motorcraft FL-820-S engine oil filter is used )
5W30 I own one, and the manual said so.
With a brick.
If the Contour is a manual transmission, they are the same except for the flywheel. A swap would be straightforward. The real weaknesses in the MTX-75 transmission are the Differential and the shift forks. There are aftermarket available for the differential and upgraded shift forks can be had from Ford for the Focus. The Focus SVT short shifter and an adaptor plate are a nice upgrade too.
i dont believe so, i have a 98 SVT and 18's where the biggest that i could fit without rubbing.
In theory, yes, it's the same basic transmission. There may be some minor differences, though, and you might have to be creative to achieve a successful transplant.
chain
( No ) the Ford Contour is a front wheel drive vehicle
right outside the tranny
With enough time and money anything is possible.
