Also, by Kirchoff's Current Law, the signed sum of the currents entering a node is equal to zero. As a consequence, in a series circuit, the current at every point in that circuit is the same.

So when the light is made not all of the energy put in will become light therefore the energy created will become light, heat and sound (like a light bulb) and so the amount of energy that is wasted on heat and sound will affect the amount of light produced in the long run.
