Polar bears are currently on the threatened species list. Reports show that if conditions do not improve, the polar bear could be mostly extinct by the year 2050. However, if we actually acknowledge this problem, the polar bears will stay around for much longer.

∙ 12y agoWho knows? Their population is thought to be fairly stable now because hunting has been banned since the 1970s, but they are very difficult to count.
Sea ice is melting in the Arctic. Ships are traveling through the previously ice-bound North West Passage. Polar Bears need the sea ice to survive. They know how to hunt seals and they build up their blubber during the winter to keep them alive during the short summer. Shorter winters mean less food. Less food means fewer cubs.

Why do polar bears have such large feet?
polar bears have such large paws/feet so they spread their weight throughout the ice and then it does not crack . if their feet were small the ice would crack because the weight would all be in one place. PS - i wrote this and i am 10
