Model 1400 barrels will not interchange with Models 1200 or 1300 barrels.The Model 1300 Defender barrels will not interchange with the 1300 Field models and viceversa.

There are no production date numbers on a firearm.You will have to take the serial number and contact Winchesters customer service dept to get the year of manufacture of your model 1300 shotgun.

Regardless of the prescence of a shell in the chamber. Keep your finger off the trigger and depress the small slide release button to the rear left of the trigger guard if looking from above. This is a button on the bottom of the shotgun which releases the slide. This will alow you to cycle all the rounds out of the tube and eject out the side port without ever pressing the trigger.

have a garage do it. it is a pain in the rear. you have to drop the basket 1st. with a new one and labore your looking at about 1300$. i just had it done.
