The next version released was Crystal version, which adds several features to the same region used in Gold and Silver, Hoenn, in addition to allowing the main character to play as a girl for the first time. The next generation of games released was Ruby and Sapphire versions, which take place in a new region, Hoenn, populated by Generation 3 Pokemon, in addition to some older Pokemon. Emerald Version adds more features and old Pokemon to Hoenn. They are not compatible with older versions. The next generation of games to come out were two remakes of the old Red/Blue/Yellow generation, FireRed and LeafGreen versions. These versions are trade- and battle-compatible with Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, and introduce no new Pokemon. The fourth generation of Pokemon makes their first appearance in Diamond and Pearl versions, set in a new region, Sinnoh. A third game containing more features, Platinum, came out later. They are not completely compatible with older versions, in that Pokemon can be imported from Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, and LeafGreen, but cannot be returned to their original games. Two new games, HeartGold and SoulSilver, remakes of the Gold/Silver/Crystal generation, are due out soon, and are said to be trade-compatible with Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.
Not yet but probably soon Nintendo will make a new version of ruby and sapphire.
I would say the one on the way to de-activate the generator at new mauville near the cycling rode in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.
Pokemon Sapphire is the third new installment of the pokemon series featuring the Generation III pokemon from the Hoenn region. New features as well as new pokemon exist in this game as well as 3D sprite models. The game features connectivity with Ruby as well as Emerald, Firered, and Leafgreen and even spin-off titles like Pokemon Colosseum.
don't count on it to be a new game or grey version, there were no announcements about a new pokemon game, right now another pokemon crossover game is coming out. the maker of pokemon black and white said there will be no grey version on an interview with him and its too soon to make a new game, black and white are still new. i think and hope it could be a remake of ruby and sapphire and again nothing was announced.
The main difference between Pokémon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire and the original versions of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire is the 3D graphic upgrade. It also have a few additions like new Mega Evolutions, Groudon's and Kyogre's Primal Reversion, a post-game plot named The Delta Episode, a new flying mechanic called Soar (where you can fly around Hoenn with a Mega Latias or Latios and have Legendary encounters), Pokémon-Amie, Super Training, Horde Encounters, Trainer Horde Battles and also upgraded features like the Pokénav Plus, Contests (introducing 5 Cosplay Pikachu) and Secret Bases.
