Yes, wind rain and hail damage is covered
No. This sounds like a maintenance item and not a covered cause.
Yes, if you have comprehensive coverage.
As lame as it sounds: It Depends. Check closely your home owners insurance coverage policy which will lay out all of the things that will be covered. A basic policy, for example, usually covers water damage from rain, but not water damage caused by water collecting on the ground. That would normally be covered by a separate flood insurance rider.
It depends on teh cause of the damage. If you had a big storm that caused a tree to fall on your roof and puncture it and rain came in at the same time then yes it would cover the damage. If you had leaks in the roof due to lack of maintenance and leaks occured in the roof then no it would no cover this type of damage. Home insurance covers damage that is "sudden and accidental" and caused by a covered cause, it does not cover maintenance, normal wear, and damage that happened over a period of time.
The terms of the AAMI landlord house insurance represent an agreement between a customer and AAMI for insurance coverage. Some of the items of the terms include that AAMI landlord house insurance will provide coverage for flood damage, rain or stormwater damage, as well as any damage or loss caused by theft and vandalism.
Exposing an electric grill to the rain could cause damage, especially if the cord and heating elements are immersed in water. Using a high quality grill cover may protect the grill from damage, but it would be better to ensure the grill is protected from rain.
No
It depends on what caused the leak. If your leak was caused by a covered peril on your policy such as Hail wind fire etc, then your homeowners insurance would cover the cost of a repair and the repair of internal damage resulting from the leak. If the leak is resultant of aged material or normal wear and tear such as an old roof that has outlived the life of the material, then that is a maintenance issue and ceiling damage will continue to occur every time it rains. Your insurance company would probably fix your ceiling but not until after you replace the aged roof.
You can call your agent to see what your deductable is. You have to weigh your options, filing a claim will raise your premium by as much as 35% and you have a deductable in most cases. If it is worth it and the damage far exceeds the deductable and rate increase, then use your insurance.
Acid rain.
I'm afraid not. I'm dealing with this issue currently myself. According to my insurance agent, unless the incident is "Accidental and Sudden", home owner's insurance will not cover it. Draining issues are more maintenance related. So, for example, if the water is from a burst pipe, it's covered, but if it's from rain damage over several months or years, it is not. Hope this helps
I assume that you are speaking of a property insurance claim involving a leak and subsequent damage caused by water damage. Property insurance is not made to cover maintenance of your property. The payment of the claim is determined by the cause of the initial damage and some other factors. One main thing to remember is that damage must be "sudden and accidental". Covered causes included fire, lightning, windstorm, weight of ice and snow, vehicle or airplane collision, theft, vandalism, etc. depending on your policy type and terms. A leak in the roof due to maintenance is not a covered cause and therefore not paid. If a storm blew a tree limb on the roof causing a hole then it is covered as well as damage from rain. You also have a requirement to mitigate the damage meaing that you have to do what you can to limit the damage as much as possible.
