Wireless (in its current state) will never outdo a wired connection. Its slower, security is slack (even when its supposodly protected), you'll have more down time, its more expensive and getting wireless connectivity is fine if your confined to one room, but what happens when you need connectivity for a whole building. Then there is also concerns about cancer from being exposed to too much wireless signals. So as it stands, wlans will never replace lan's.

Probably eventually, but there's really no reason to go wireless in something like an office setting where there are computers with established physical locations. In scenarios where mobility is important, WLAN can already replace wired LAN.
LAN is wired WLAN is wireless
wlan
local area network is only for small area and wireless local area network is for one building.
It actually means this. wireless internet access, wireless lan.
Its simply called a wireless LAN - available at most retailers.
It actually means this. wireless internet access, wireless lan.
Probably you mean WLAN, it's a port for internet cable.
A wireless LAN does not need wires to connect; therefore, devices using a WLAN can be very mobile and are not constrained by physical wiring.
It is not possible to use WLAN and LAN connections simultaneously for greater Internet speed without the use of a special router or paid software.
No, it doesn't. It has a built in Intel network adapter and a modem card, but no wireless LAN.
Depends on what device you are setting up. LAN is your local area network (note the initials). WLAN is the WIDE network outside of your LAN. Usually you don't need to change WLAN settings unless you are configuring a router. In that case, read the fine manual!
A stand alone environment has no network hooked up to a computer, therefore, no internet. A network (either LAN, WLAN, or WAN) allows data to be shared amoungst computers. The Internet is a WAN network, the one in your home a LAN, and a network shared amoungst several skyscrapers would be a WLAN.
