Amethyst can be found in natural deposits in many locations in the United States. Including the Mazatzal Mountain region in Gila and Maricopa Counties in Arizona; Amethyst Mountain, Texas; Yellowstone National Park; Delaware County, Pennsylvania; Haywood County, North Carolina; Deer Hill and Stow, Maine and in the Lake Superior region. It is unlikely that you will be able to find an Amethyst deposit in the city of San Diego, but there are most likely several fine establishments that carry it as a comodity, to be sold to the general public.
Currently you are not able to play as a pup in WolfQuest due to the amount of funding/time it would take to develop.
WolfQuest is a virtual game where you can play as a wolf. It requires no math, science, etc., but it is learning about wolves. In WolfQuest, you pick from various different realistic wolf colors, then you explore a large area called Amethyst Mountains. There, you explore 3 different territories on a quest to find a mate. Next, you go to the second episode and raise pups with your mate. **Remember: nothing inappropriate is shown, so it is safe for all ages.**That is only single-player, though. In multiplayer, you have to create an account on Wolfquest.org. Then, you click a certain server in the multiplayer version and you enter your username and password. WolfQuest requires downloading, but it does NOT have any and viruses. WolfQuest is safe and fun, but if you do not select 13 and older, then you will not be able to talk at all in multiplayer mode. I hope this helped!

Even though there are signs of other packs in WolfQuest. There is no 'wolf pack'. The only wolves you are able to run into are stranger wolves, dispersal wolves, and on the final mission (if you enter another pack territory) a wolf will appear and chase you out.
