It depends on who is doing the background check and what they are looking for. Background checks are typically run by private organizations for licensing or employment purposes. Generally, employers specifically say that they aren't interested in minor traffic offenses. Likewise, they may be willing to overlook certain misdemeanors or even felonies, depending on the circumstances.
You should talk to whomever is doing the check about your circumstances before the check is complete. They are much more likely to work with you if they believe you are being honest about the situation.
remove the seat first (key in the side of the bike). you should then be able to get to the battery. if my memory serves me correctly you should then be able to pull the battery terminals and the battery strap, and pull the battery out!
Having an electronic background, I would suggest checking the battery. Though, if the car is not able to start, a run-down battery may just be a symptom of the real problem. The question is simply too vague. For example: when was the last time you put fuel in it?

While we can't see into your particular Forester to see what battery is in there, your local battery retailer will be able to recommend the correct battery for your car. --Ken
If you reverse the connection of the battery charger you will discharge the battery. You may be able to correct the connection and charge it properly, or the battery may be ruined.
That wouldn't seem fair.
