Take the oral pill, like seriously. i decided to get the deprova shot, which means that i had to go in and get a shot every 3 months. i was 110 pounds. after i got the first shot, a few weeks later, i started to notice some weight gain, mainly on my stomache. within the 3 months before my next shot id noticed id gained alot of weight, like some on my thighs and butt and the rest of my body, but like ALOT on my stomache. all my button up blouses wouldn't do up, and my tight tank tops were too short and made me feel like a sausage. when i went in for my second shot, the doctor weighed me and said id gained 40 pounds! :( and that its normal to gain weight, and sometimes its more weight for some girls, and less weight for others. he kept me on the shot for 2 more months because he said it was probobly just water retention, and that the shot was more effective than the pill. :( well im definitely not pregnant, but i sure look it. ive lost my figure completely. i weight 211 pounds now :'( and still, most of its on my belly and i hate my body now. i stopped seeing that doctor, and went on the birth control pill instead and im slowwwlyyy losing the weight :(. but i recommend the pill definitely if you don't want to gain weight. i cant fit my big fat gut into any of my old clothes anymore :'(.
To prevent weight gain on birth control, don't change how much you eat or exercise. If you were gaining weight before starting birth control, you'll probably continue to gain weight after starting birth control.
Despite old wives' tales to the contrary, birth control pills do not cause weight gain. Patients on birth control pills and patients not on birth control in controlled studies both gained weight.
The Birth Control itself does not have any ingredients in it that make you gain weight. The birth control makes you crave food and its the food you eat that makes you gain weight. So when you crave the food go for something healthy to eat such as fruit.

No birth control method will prevent weight gain. Weight gain results from a mismatch of energy intake and energy output. If you eat right and exercise, matching your input and output, you will not gain weight once you reach your mature adult size.
