Talk to you doctor if you have a fever, or any other symptoms that concern you. You can't get diagnosed here. Strep Throat doesn't appear out of thin air; it is a bacterial infection. Not all bad sore throats are caused by strep. If you have cold symptoms and no fever, it is probably caused by a virus. Strep throat is airborne, meaning that you get it from the tiny droplets that an infected person gives off in sneezes. So a person who doesn't have strep throat cannot possibly give strep to you, no matter what you do. But that doesn't mean that you can't get any number of other things from engaging in oral sexual activity.

I think alot of times we want to make a mental "check mark" next to each symptom of illness and if don't have all them we aren't sure we are truly sick. When we just need to realize everyone is different and our bodies all react differently to viruses and bacteria. So I would say if you have a sore throat and have recently been exposed to someone with strep I would get it checked out.
