Only if you want to risk dying - there's a damned good reason that there are specific warnings in the prescribing information about exposing the patches to heat other than regular body heat, including a fever.
As someone who has used Duragesic for over 10 years (up to 2 100mcg patches at a time), I can tell you that there have been several times where I've experienced the effects of increased dosage delivery due to accidental overheating (increased activity, etc.). In my case, my opiate tolerance level is extremely high, enough such that I've actually reached a point where I no longer get any therapeutic effects, only increased side effects. Even for someone like me, it causes you to be in a near delirious state, where you're basically aware of what's happening, but you're powerless to do anything about it. For a lot of people (especially someone who's only using a small dose), overheating a patch usually leads to respiratory depression and death, or worse.
The problem isn't the increased dosage rate taking effect quicker, it's the fact that it takes time for your system to process so that your dosage returns to a manageable level, even if you remove the patch and cool yourself down. If you're not tolerant enough, you're really gambling with your life, and I'm not exaggerating. Fentanyl is the strongest opiate on the planet, and not to be taken lightly.
If you're having problems with the patch dose running low and then getting pain/withdrawal effects, there's a couple of things you can do. First, track how long your dosage lasts - not everyone gets 72 hours, and if you're closer to 48 hours, you need a different prescription or a higher dose if you can handle it. Second, use your breakthrough meds if you need to cover the ramp-up time for the new patch to take effect.
However, the best way to deal with it is to put on a new patch about 3 hours or so before the current one is going to expire. Most long-term users know when their patch is going to start running low, so calculate and add a new patch when the other is winding down. This way you essentially maintain the same dosage level, as one is ramping up at the same time the other is winding down.
Probably not
25mcg

1mcg/0.001mg=25mcg/x
i am on 25mcg of levothyin and i am still tired
25mcg equals 0.025mg
There is no Relation and it is like if you want to convert Litres into Kilogrammes
I'm not absolutely certain but I believe it's 25mcg. This is what my doctor started me on.
strong enought that if your arent opiate tolerant that the lowest dose of the patch will make you overdose, dont be stupid, when it says for opiate tollerent patients only it really facking means it.
25mcg converts to 0.025mg (1000mcg per milligram).
This refers to a Fentanyl Transdermal patch, which is commonly used for chronic pain patients like myself that need continuous long-term opiate therapy. It is regulated by body heat, and is extremely effective. There are several doses - 12.5, 25, 50, 75 and 100mcg patches, all of which can be used with one another to make specific dosages. For example, though my normal dose is 100mcg, I typically have to use 200mcg, so I'll use 2 100mcg patches.
Yes, depending on how you plan to use it. BE VERY CAREFUL The fentanyl may solidify and lose its effectiveness transdermally (through your skin). It may also lose its potency, but not by much (guessing 5% max) unless exposed to the air. You can try putting a half patch in your cheek, try not to swallow the gel it is less effective if digested. You can also try heating the patch before applying it. Both these methods are dangerous, and should not be tried without a tolerance. If you have no tolerance, or want to abuse the patch, SWIM recommends that you scrape pinhead sized drops of gel onto tinfoil and vaporize it. you want about 160ug...but how the hell do you measure that. Dont set it on fire, inhale through a tube. I have a friend who died abusing fentanyl, be careful, find a drug forum, read more if you don't know.
