Going to church doesn't make you a Christian. It's not about that, or about how much you tithe. It's about a personal relationship with yourself and Christ Jesus.

You can know for sure by calling on Jesus. The Word of God (the Bible) says "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23). It also says "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Acts 2:21). If you would like to receive the gift that God has for you, say this prayer with your heart and your lips out loud: "Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Forgive me of my sin. Wash me and cleanse me. Set me free. Jesus thank You that You died for me. I believe that You have risen, and that You're coming back again for me. Fill me with the Holy Spirit, give me a passion for the lost, a hunger for the things of God, and a holy boldness to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am saved, I am born again, I am forgiven, and I am on my way to Heaven, because I have Jesus in my heart."

If you said that prayer, then as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I tell you today that all of you sins are forgiven right now. And always remember to run to God and not from Him because He loves you and has a great plan for your life.

If you believe in God, life is all a test, you have to deserve the reward of going to Heaven. If you don't steal, be nice, be patient, pray and read a Bible, you will likely go to heaven. There are some faiths that believe you need to be Baptized in order to go to Heaven, others do not share the same belief. I say go through with the baptism, if you must be baptized to get in then you've done what's needed if not than you spent some time with good people, there is no real down side to getting baptized, but the consequences for not doing it may be severe. The belief is that we are all born with "original sin", when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. This means that both good and evil live in us, by getting baptized you erase the original sin and reaffirm your belief in God.

As long as you're good.

Answer

Being "good" will not do the trick.

According to The Bible, you will go to heaven if you believe that Jesus died for your sins, rose from the dead, and if you ask Jesus to come into your heart.

John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

All who do that will in turn love Christ and obey his commandments, resulting in a righteous life.

So faith produces righteousness. So-called Righteousness apart from faith will result in damnation.

Neither. I am realistic enough to know that heaven and hell simply do not exist. Heaven is a useful concept for those who fear their mortality, and perhaps for some hell is a useful substitute for conscience. But these concepts exist in the imagination only.

AnswerFor the Christian heaven and hell are not so much places as states of being. Heaven is when you are united to God, which is the purpose for which every single one of us was created; and hell is existence where we have rejected God. We are actually beginning to live in one or the other right here on earth, death really doesn't hold that many surprises, it just removes the possibility of changing anymore. If we have been living for our fellow men, seeing God in them, denying ourselves, etc., then we are living in heaven before we die and death removes us from this "vale of tears" and we are happy and joyful for ever. We may have a firm hope or a pretty good idea which one we are going to end up in, but even though we begin to live in them here, we can never be sure, especially as everything depends on our last moments as we die. All we can do is live the best life that we can - with God's help - and pray constantly for His Grace.

it all depends on whether this "heaven" is existent. And if it were, by the moral standards of Christianity, i highly doubt it.

ANSWER:

The Bible speaks of 3 heavens: Our sky where birds and insects fly and clouds are formed; space or the universe where 'heavenly' bodies are; and God's Throne and the spirit world. A popular teaching of mainstream Christianity is that when we die, we will go to heaven. But that is not what the Bible says. Indeed, Christ, Himself said: 'And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even the Son of Man which is in heaven' (John 3:13). In chapter 21 of Revelations, after the Great Day of the Lord, and the Millenium, it describes how a new Heaven and new Jerusalem descends down to newly cleansed Earth (2 Peter 3:10). Our great God the Father will live with us and we will be his spirit sons and daughters through Jesus Christ.

The idea of going to heaven is drawn from Dante's Divine Comedy as many of the mainstream beliefs are. Read it for yourself then check the Bible passages.

if you put your faith in Christ than yes

Another Answer:

The Bible tells us that only Jesus qualified to go to Heaven. It later Scriptures, it tells us that mankind will inherit the Earth and that a new heaven and new earth will come down to the planet purged clean by fire in 2 Peter 3:13 and Revelation 21.

John 3:13New King James Version (NKJV)

13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven

That depends on what you believe. I could say "yes", but that would be in line with Christian beliefs. Or, I could say "no" and be in line with Atheistic beliefs. Most, but not all, religions have places that represent Heaven and Hell. It is all about what YOU believe, or have been taught.

Another Answer:

As amazing as it may sound, the Bible clearly says no one has gone to Heaven - the Throne of God - except Jesus Christ who qualified:

John 3:13New International Version (NIV)

13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven-the Son of Man.

There are many Scriptures throughout the Bible that clearly say when one dies, they are in the grave (hell) - sleeping and awaiting their call to Judgement.

The modern ideas of a firery hell where bad people are tormented is more in line with the book, 'The Inferno' by Dante. The Bible says those who refuse to repent and remain incorrigible will be thrown into the Lake of Fire receiving the 2nd death - which is final.

Another Answer:

That is not entirely true. When Jesus was crucified, one of the thieves told Jesus he was being crucified unjustly because he hadn't done anything. To that thief, Jesus said: "This dayshalt thou be with me in the Kingdom of Heaven". I was trying to keep the answer simple, and my religious beliefs out of it. Fact is, except for that particular thief, as the other answer indicated, no one--if you take the Bible as it is written--has gone to Heaven or Hell. That cannot happen until after the Final Battle, at which point there is to be final Judgement. And, it still boils down to what an individual believes. I can tell someone they are going to either of those places all day long, or not, but it would be injecting my beliefs into the answer. Read the passages related to the crucifixion in LUKE.

To go to heaven, one needs to accept Our Blessed Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and EVERYTHING that He said. He said, quite plainly, in appointing His apostles (the first Bishops of the Church) everyone who accepts you, accepts ME; everyone who rejects you, rejects ME, and the ONE who sent ME. Thus, to gain heaven is to follow Christ in His Church (the holy Catholic Church), to take up one's cross daily and follow Him. We are to conform our lives to His, and this includes His complete subjection to the Father's Will, and His very death on the cross. Unless we die to ourselves, we will never find life.

I do not expect to go to heaven, and also believe that no one else will, simply because there is no heaven. However, the idea of a heaven is helpful as it provides comfort for some people who wish to be immortal.
