You will be running off the battery power only. Once the battery is run down you be stuck, unable to start.
Alternater
check and make sure water is not getting in ur alternater cap
It provides it with electrical energy.
A car battery's function is to store electrical energy for your vehicle. When you start the car the stored energy in the battery turns your car over and once your car starts the alternater will power everything and recharge the battery.
Well there is 2 ways to check....it could be your alternater or your battery....to check to see if it is your alternater pull of your positive cable and if the car dies it is your alternater if your car don't die then it is the battery and you might want to get that replaced
Start the car, unplug the battery the alternater should power the car. If it dies the alternator is bad. You can also get it checked at any parts store.
Sounds like a loose alternater belt.
you have a bad alternater or belt
the car won't start
one thing it could be is the alternater. a good way to find out is to recharge your battery and when you turn on the car, while the car is on unplugge the the battery if the car turns off its the alternater if it stays on the alternater is good and it could be the battery. but if its a new battery then more likely its the alternater. A more common problem is simply dirty wire connections. Disconnect the battery, the starter, and the alternator. Purchase some electrical parts cleaner and a wire brush (if you don't already have one) from a local parts store. Spray the connections, brush, and spray again to remove loose contaminates. Then reconnect all wires, and give it a try!
It is not where the housing is. You have to lift car and its behind alternater.. not easy but possible
WORKING FROM THE FRONT; YOU NEED A SIZE 17 SOCKET ON A TBAR.THE ALTERNATER IS ON DRIVER SIDE AT THE BACK.THERE ARE THREE BOLTS TO LOOSEN (DONT TAKE THEM RIGHT OFF) . PULL THE ALTERNATER TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE CAR, SLIP BELT OVER CRANK PULLEY THEN OVER ALTERNATER PULLEY .LEVER ALTERNATER BACK TO TIGHTEN BELT,THEN RETIGHTEN 3 BOLTS
