Why does my Power steering only work when its cold?
The power steering pump probably needs replaced. When it's cold the fluid is thicker so it is easier for the pump to have pressure in it when it gets hot the fluid gets thinner so the pump is having to work harder than in the cold

The bottom of your pump has been sealed and water lays there in dry weather The pump just sits in water five inches deep and gets rusty is it okay that the pump sits in water and gets rusty?
No it is not ok. It needs to be sorted out. It will only get worse and the sealing wont last with it rusting. Water can also carry harmful bacteria in rusty water. You must get that sorted out before someone gets sick.

Well, if the car does not run or even start then it's fuel pump. If the engine gets real hot when running then it's the water pump.

This is not an uusual as when the toilet is flushed more cold water is drawn usually from the cold water pipe that suplies the shower with cold water so generaly the water under the shower gets hotter. The only way to stop this from happening is to lay an extra pipe all the way to the ater suply point, or fit a pump to maintain the presure
