Eight hours after you quit smoking, your lungs start to heal and will heal until they have fully healed. To do this better you must try to avoid inhaling any other chemicals from other drugs to household products. Go out into the country and breathe fresh air.

Why does a smokers cough clear up during the day?

A smoker's cough may clear up during the day because the body has a chance to heal and repair the damage caused by smoking while you are awake. During sleep, the body's natural healing mechanisms are still active, which can help reduce inflammation and irritation in the respiratory system. Additionally, being upright and active during the day can help clear mucus and phlegm from the lungs, providing temporary relief from the cough.

How much tar would be on your lungs after smoking for one year?

I'm pretty sure it was if you smoked 20+ cigarettes a day (the average no. for a smoker) , after one year you would be left with 1.5 pounds of tar in your lungs just looking at the pictures of smokers lungs and hearing what it can do to you would be enough to stop anyone smoking! I don't know why anyone would want to do that to themselves?! The pictures of 'smokers' lungs' are usually of the DISEASED lungs of PIGS or even lungs of pigs soaked in chemicals. Coloration of the lungs is caused by disease and the undiseased lungs of a smoker and non-smoker look exactly the same. By the above estimate, a lifetime smoker for fifty years would be carrying 75 pounds of tar in their lungs!!! The amount of tar produced by a typical cigarette is 7 milligrams. The average smoker smokes around 100 cigarettes a week so, in a year, this would add up to around 35 grams or just over an ounce. Some of the tar is exhaled and the macrophages and mucus in the lungs break down all but minute traces of what remains.

How do smokers clear their lungs of mucus?

because the smoke from the cigarette slowly burn away the Cecilia( hair like fibers) that sweep mucus and other dust like material out of the lungs, so once they are burnt away it can no longer sweep out the material which causes you to produce the so called smokers cough to ex spell all of the materials. deandre233@yahoo.com

What happen when hemoglobin increases of smoker?

Firstly, this makes no sense, if you're asking about how smoking affects the haemoglobin in the blood is affected by smoking, it cannot react and pick up oxygen as well as it should do, so it cannot transport it around the body in such large quantities that it would have been able to were the person not a smoker. There is less oxygen in the lungs for the haemoglobin to take, and the lungs are damaged. Also, the smoking builds fat up around the arteries making the blood pressure higher.

What might happen to the cilia f the trachea were damaged?

For a human who has smoked and destroyed the cilia by coating the inner wall of the trachea with tar, the mucus that is secreted will have no mechanism to bring it up the trachea to be swallowed except for the 'smoker's hack', a chronic cough that brings up the phlegm from the lungs. Those cilia do not regenerate so, the person will have the 'smoker's hack' for the rest of his life.

Why is a smoker's lungs black?

after a long period of time smoking, a smokers lung becomes black do to the tar inside of their tobacco product. tar is like a thick, gross, stick black fluid that builds up in your lungs (only if u smoke or receive second hand smoke). it can never come out of your lungs, it just kinda settles there. :) hope i helped

Why do smokers get out of breath sooner than non-smokers?

Because the smoker's lungs are smaller than normal person. The lung helps us breath so the smokers need to breath quickly when they walk. Because less of the surface inside a smokers lungs is able to absorb the air that is necessary as result of being covered with tar and other chemicals that are left behind every time smoke is inhaled. Boy I'm glad I gave it up.
