I, myself, am a Muslim. Thus, I may be telling you this from a different perspective then the one seen through, by other religions. Satan, because of his arrogance, has, since the day the prophet Adam picked the fruit from the tree, tried to get people to commit unlawful things. He swore he would take all of Adam's children (humans) with him to Hell, for which God (Allah) let him live forever, and to try. But Allah said "ONLY THOSE OF WHICH ARE TRUE BELIEVERS, WILL NOT FOLLOW YOU," (not exact translation). Those who follow Satan's path, will burn eternally in the blazing fires of Hell. But for those who have remained on the right path, and have not let Satan interfere with their beliefs, will relax eternally in Heaven. Often people believe that Jesus, has died on the cross for them. Although that is a different discussion, Jesus did NOT die on the cross, for the sins of other people. What this means is, you don't do what you want. You will be counted on everything you do. You can either take the right path - to Heaven. Or the path leading to Hell - the one Satan is trying to lead you to.

I wanted to clear one point over here. There are no two Gods actually. The God is only one and He is our Jehova. The words harsh and love depicts his two different characters.
