It would depend on what country you are in. My BMW Euro spec in Germany so they refer to everything as kilometers and the speedometer only has kilos.
But if i was going to sell my car to an American in Europe i would say it has *** km which is equal to ***miles.
Either way it really doesnt matter if you refer to it in km or mi it just depends on where you live or who you are talking to. The actual engine doesnt have a reader on it that says it has that many whatevers on it
How this is answered for a person depends on what level of math the questioner is. But here is a basic answer:The speedometer measures the speed (rate of change of distance traveled with respect to time) at any particular point in time. In Calculus, it would be said that the speedometer shows the derivative of the function for distance traveled.Note that speed is a scalar, and therefore doesn't depend on direction: distance traveled is not the same as position, since you could drive in a circle and travel a distance of several miles without getting more than a mile from the starting point, for example.
No. The average speed would be the distance traveled divided by the elapsed time.
Scientists use Kilometers to measure distance traveled by a car
A metric ruler.
usually miles
A distance time graph would show the distance traveled.
The rate that you cover a distance is your speed. Speed is a measure of the distance traveled per unit time. If your units are meters and seconds, then your speed would be in meters/second. To find the speed of something you divide the distance it traveled by the time it took to travel that distance. For example if something traveled 40 meters in 10 seconds its speed would be (40 meters)/(10 seconds) = 4 meters/second
S=d/t It's an Equation to show how to calculate the speed which would be the distance the object has traveled divided by the time is traveled for. Here's an Example: My Car traveled 10 miles in 10 hours so my speed would be 1mph as Distance: 10 miles divided by Time: 10 hours gives me 1mph.
Think about it. If you travel for more time, would you advance a greater distance (that would be a direct proportion), or less distance (that would be an inverse proportion)?
Well, it would be the number of miles traveled divided by the number of days taken to travel it. In this case: X/76 = D Where X is the distance traveled and D is the distance traveled each day.
Line graph
meters-a kilometer would be about 1000 large steps (walking), A meter is one large step
