Corroded abs sensors can cause you a lot of headaches including weird speedometer operation, abs light, and no/sparatic abs or traction control. A bad abs sensor will not, however, cause a pull during braking. To solve the pull you need to make sure your brakes (all 4 corners) are working properly and aren't worn out, make sure all your tires are in good shape (good tread left) all the same size and kind and inflated properly. Also you may want to look into having your alignment checked.
Have to replace the brake sensors once you change the brakes and the computer will reset itself after a few minutes.
There are 2 ABS sensors. On the front brakes only.
The cables are corroded. You will need to replace the cables. To free them up you will need to disconnect them from the parking brake levers on both rear brakes.
You replace the brakes on an ABS S10 the same way you replace brakes on a non ABS S10.
Sometimes the self adjust rod gets rusty or corroded. When that happens it also damages the arm. Replace them both.
why do brakes and abs lights come on 2002 safari van?
This will greatly depend on what kind of brakes you have and which parts you are trying to replace. Do you have disc or drum brakes? If you have disc brakes, do you want to replace the calipers, pads, or rotors? If you have drum brakes, do you want to replace the drum, or the shoes?
