If the Gauges on your instrument panel have stopped working you may have had a voltage converter stop working. This device mounted to the rear of your instrument panel converts the voltage from your alternator to the voltage that your gauges run off of. You can check the fuses with a multimeter and see if both sides have voltage showing, if so then see about replacing the voltage converter.

It sounds as if you have a defective ignition switch. The next time it happens you need to turn the key slightly. If it starts working then the ignition switch is bad.

Check your tail lights. If they are stuck on the switch might be bad. The brake switch will cancel the cruise. If a light has a ground fault the voltage will feed back and cancel the cruise. Those are a couple places to start looking. If that's not it, it's probably a little more severe.
