No, the only thing it would do is make the engine run hot. However, if the leak is large enough and low enough, the coolant could leak out fast enough to destroy the engine. You should get it fixed.
Yes, it sure can.
Yes, it would. While the Throttle plate is closed when not pressing on the gas pedal. The IAC is a bypass passage that allows air to continuous flow to the engine. I just had the same problem with my 2000 Mitsubishi Galant. I unplugged the IAC and the engine no longer wants to stall out, it just runs at a higher RPM to compensate for the nipple on the IAC not moving back to create the bypass passage.
Check the fuel filter or the fuel pump.
I have a 95 galant that would just quit running at a stop or even driving it would just loose all electrical power. It turned out to be the cheap alarm system they put in it. when i removed the alarm it quit having the problem.
One reason why a Mitsubishi Star Wagon will stall when accelerating is bad spark plugs. Another reason is a bad oxygen sensor or the throttle position sensor.
I had this problem last year. Turned out my air intake host where it connects to the air filter box was loose. I don't know how it became loose but after I tighten it, the problem went away.
torque converter is hangin up..
because the car thinks it overheating so it shuts down to prevent damage to the motor
cranck sunser
I had the same problem with my Eclipse it was the spyder turbo i had put cheap gas in it. went to 93 octane had no problems.
The AC pump is bad. When the AC is turned on the pump tries to turn, because it is bad the extra strain on the motor causes it to stall. Be carely this can break or through a belt. In short its like putting a "brake" on your motor.
Bad seal? Bad cooling line to radiator?
