What does it mean when a magazine is 300 rounds?

A "magazine" that has 300 rounds is not the kind that you read. It is the magazine for some time of weapon. A 300 round magazine would describe the capacity of the magazine. In other words, how many times the weapon can be fired before it has to be reloaded (change magazines).

What does removing the plug on a shotgun do?

A shotgun typically stores 5 rounds in its magazine. In some countries, when hunting certain types of game, you are only allowed 3 rounds in your magazine. The "plug" therfore goes into the magazine and takes up the space that two rounds would occupy., reducing the shotgun's magazine capacity be 2 and making it legal. Thus removing the plug restores the shotgun's capacity for a full magazine.

What is the meaning of the phrase Full Metal Jacket?

a magazine full of live rounds//Full Metal Jacket means: A full metal covering of the led bullet which is usually copper. A magazine full of live rounds would have rounds (bullets) with a Full Metal Jacket. :D

How much bullets does a 357 holds?

That depends on make and model. A typical "snub nosed" compact .357 Magnum revolver would hold five rounds, whereas a full sized revolver will usually hold six. The Desert Eagle .357 Magnum has a standard magazine capacity of nine rounds.

How many bullets did the lee enfield hold?

Basically they held 10 rounds of .303 in the magazine and would hold an extra 1 in the chamber.

How many bullets in a 25 pistol?

It depends on the make and model of .25 caliber handgun, but, generally the magazine would hold at least 5 rounds with one in the chamber for a total of 6 rounds. The correct terms for "bullets" are "rounds" or "cartridges", a bullet is the projectile that exits the firearm.

How many rounds were in guns in the 30s?

A submachinegun would be fed from magazines with a typical capacity of 20 - 30 rounds. The 45 round drum was available for the Thompson, but was unpopular in military service. Most of your self loading handguns would carry six to eight rounds, although the Browning P35 premiered in 1935, which was the first handgun to use the double stacked magazine, giving it a capacity of 13 rounds. Most service rifles of the period were simple variations of First World War bolt action rifles, and the normal capacity for those was five rounds. Exceptions include the Short Magazine Lee-Enfield, which held ten rounds. Some of the first self loading military rifles came about in the 1930s. There was the ill fated Simonov AVS-36 (10 rounds), M1 Garand (eight rounds), ZH-29 (five, ten, or 25 rounds), and Tokarev SVT-1938 (20 rounds).

Is a glock 19 legal in ca?

I believe that according to California 'code', a handgun/pistol can NOT have a clip/magazine with the capacity of holding more than 10 (ten) rounds, in order to be considered 'legal'.You should check the codes in your area before relying on me though, I am not a LAWYER or legal professional.Since the GLOCK 19 comes 'standard' with a 15 (fifteen) round magazine, they would NOT be considered 'legal' in the STATE OF CALIFORNIA, if the above code(s) are in place which only allow magazines capable of holding 10 (ten) rounds or less of ammunition.

How does clip lock into a Chinese sks?

The clip does not lock into the rifle. To load the SKS, you would first lock the bolt to the rear (this requires the magazine to be inserted). You would then take the clip - which holds ten rounds of ammunition - and insert it into the slot at the front of the bolt carrier. You would then push down on the rounds to feed them from the clip into the magazine. After the magazine is loaded, you then pull upwards to remove the clip, at which point, you can chamber a round and begin firing. See related link "SKS carbine operations" for a visual demonstration of this process. If you're looking for how to install the magazine into the SKS, check the related link "SKS Assembly and Disassembly". See also the related link "Clips vs. Mags"

How many rounds m16 fire in a minute?

The M16's of today fire only in short round bursts; about 3 rounds per trigger pull. These weapons were modified after the Vietnam War, when after action reports were studied; they found that men were firing more rounds and hitting the enemy less. Translation: Approximately 3,000 bullets to kill/wound one enemy soldier in Vietnam. Consequently, the US Army decided "to not waste anymore ammo", and modified the M16's for short round bursts; no more "Rock 'n Roll!" All US military small arms weapons specify how many rounds PER MINUTE a designated weapon will fire. Since no one (other than the factory) can fire a M16 fully sustained for one minute, because no magazine exists that can hold one minutes worth of .223 ammo (5.56mm); during Vietnam...a standard M16 magazine of 20 rounds could be emptied within 3 seconds, on full rock n roll (fully automatic). And be advised, MOST GI's loaded only 18 rds in their magazines, 20 rounds put too much pressure on the magazine spring...and if not used within a period of time...dust, dirt, moisture, etc. all conspired to cause the spring to fail...creating a jam. IF, during a firefight, and ammo was freely being expended, then a full 20 rounds would be charged into the magazine...because the rifle was going to be emptied within seconds anyway (fired).

What is the difference between a clip and a magazine?

A clip just holds ammunition & will not feed ammunition since there is not a spring to push the ammunition into the firearm. A Magazine is a feeding device that holds the ammunition & has a spring to feed the ammunition into the firearm. Also a clip is normally used to feed a magazine. As far as magazines go there are numerous types. The common ones are a box magazine, tubular magazine, rotary magazine & these can be internal or detachable. Most bolt action rifles have an internal magazine while most semi automatic firearms have a detachable magazine like what is used in an AK-47 or the AR-15 series rifles. One internal magazine semi auto rifle is the M-1 Garand, it also needs a clip to feed it. Many 22 rifles have a tubular magazine as do many shotguns. An example of a rotary box magazine would be the 10/22 ruger or the old Savage 99. The 10/22 is detachable where the Savage 99 is not (in the old ones, the newer Savage 99 magazines are detacable & I believe a regular box style). Hope this helps some.

How many bullets could the German mauser fire per minute?

As many as the firer was capable of firing. The Mauser had an internal box magazine which held five rounds. On top of that, it's a bolt action rifle. 30 rounds per minute would probably be a reasonable estimate in the hands of an experienced and proficient operator.
