How remove AR-15 magazine floor plate?

At the back of the floor plate, there's a section which curves upwards. You get a small slotted screwdriver (or similar device) between that and the magazine body, and - using the magazine body as a fulcrum - simply pull the floor plate towards the rear of the magazine. This is for the GI and GI style magazines, mind you, and won't work on H&K mags, Magpul P-Mags, etc.

What is the value of a Colt ar15 model sp1 serial sp204269?

I own two of them, both fired sparingly, and I suspect their value to be around $1150. It really depends upon the buyer and is desire to aquire one. I paid $175 for one of them in 1975 and I can't remember what the other cost.

************ ************** ************

AS OF 2011: These things have skyrocketed in price mostly because of the "Assault Weapon" bans and hysteria. Currently, these are offered for $1299-1599 range online (and they're selling well in the "Free States" that allow their sale and possession by their free citizens)

The H-BAR version (Serial number preceded by a "CH" for "Competition" or "MH" for "Match" versions) are more desirable and command more money than the "SP" or "Sporter" versions... Either rifle is a fun .223 shooter and can be the basis for many conversions and modifications as well as used for competition sports shooting.

What does an AR 15 gas block do?

A gas block acta as an intermediary channel for the gas trapped behind the bullet (when the rifle is fired) to exit the hole in the barrel and be directed up, then back into the rifle. This powers the reloading mechanism of the rifle.

There's probably a more technical answer for it, but at it's basic, that is what a gas block does.

Do ace m4 buffer tubes fit stag arms ar15 lower receivers?

Yes. All those parts are machined to the same dimensional specifications, and are interchangeable between brands and makes. Likewise, both mil spec and commercial spec tubes are threaded the same to be screwed into the back of the lower receiver.

The only instances of a receiver not accepting extension tubes which I'm aware of was the first run of receivers from Roggio Arsenal, out of Fayetteville, NC. They had to recall their entire first production run because they had the threads for the extension tube coupling threaded incorrectly.

How To

How to load an AR15?

If you are unsure how to safely operate your firearm, it would be advisable to get some advice/training from a knowledgeable individual. The salesmen at the gun store can help you understand how to properly use and load your firearm.

Put the magazine into the rifle brass side up. Give the magazine a little tug to make sure it is properly seated in the magazine well.

To chamber a round, pull the charging handle back (which will pull the bolt back) and let the bolt cycle forward. Hit the forward assist to make sure the bolt is completely forward; otherwise the firing pin will not hit the primer.

Can a ar-15 kill a deer?

This question depends on the bullet, trajectory, and placement. Personally, I would never take a .223 caliber rifle against a deer. It does not have the penetration or mass of the bullet to make a good shot. Now back to the question, yes it could but it is highly unrecommended. Technically, a 22lr could kill a deer, but that is a less that 0.05% chance! Use a .308 or 30-06 caliber rifle!

AR-15 Rifles

What caliber rifle is most effective for police use a 223 AR 15 or 45 Beretta Storm?

I perfer anything in 45, but it depends on the situation. The Ar 15 is extreamly easy to use, but has to be kept clean. In Close quarters you run the risk of over-penatration. The 45 has a lot of knockdown power at close range, but fails at longer distance. In My opinion, have both and chose which fits the situation.

AR-15 Rifles

Who is the best AR-15 manufacturer?

COLT has been making the AR-15 for many years before everyone else started making them, so I would have to go with Colt. Yes, they are really expensive, but they know what they are doing since they are the original makers of the AR-15.

If you don't want to spend that money, I would go with a DPMS or Bushmaster. I have a DPMS and love it, but I still think Colt will out-do any AR-15.

Hate to burst your bubble, but there really aren't any AR-15 manufacturers left in the US. Nobody manufactures every component themselves - not even Colt. Their receivers are outsourced to Continental Machine Tool, who also manufacture the receivers for Wilson Tactical, Noveske, Century, Rock River Arms, Smith & Wesson, High Standard, and several others.

Lewis Machine Tool manufactures receivers which match any receiver made by Continental in quality. They manufacture receivers for LMT, Knight's Armament, Barrett, Armalite, and others.

And, like it or don't, no forged receiver is going to be build with the same quality and durability as the billet lowers made by POF, Daniels Defence, Sun Devil/Hero Guns, etc.
