Yes, but if he is nesting, it needs to be turned very low so as to avoid damaging his bubble nest.

Yes. Betta fish jump, which they might jump into a air pump. They jump at least 2-4 cm high out of the fish tank/ aquarium.

Do betta fish need air pump?

Betta fish do not need to be in oxygenated water because they gulp air from the surface of the water. They can be kept in a variety of small containers. I found some really stylish ones online at www.bigalsonline.com. I attached a link for you!

What kind of fish can you put in a 2 gallon octagon fish tank with a pump?

What does an electric air pump do for aquariums?

An electric air pump oxygenates the water in an aquarium, this allows the fish in the fish tank to breath. if there was no air pump the water would lose its oxygen and the fish would drown.

What do you use to clean the pump or motor of a fish tank?

To clean the pump or motor of your fish tank, just rinse with water. If you use chemicals or soaps it will most likely kill the fish or damage it tremendously. just rinse it well with water and you will have a nice and clean pump for your fish tank.

Other than a Betta what kind of fish and how many of each kind of fish can be in a one-gallon tank with an undergravel filter and air pump?

One Gallon? Only a Betta. Most anything that's small enough for a 1g is to active for one. A micro-tank can be absolutely lovely though if you plant it really well, get a rams head snail to keep waste down, and pick out a really pretty Betta.

Who should you talk to if your Betta is aggressive?

A betta, is fish that lives alone in the wild, and likes it that way, your betta is doing what comes naturally to it, if you want to enjoy your betta get a clear bowl or vase, any size will do, put some gravel in it with some live plants an your betta will be very happy, bettas breathe air like we do, so you don't need an air pump, and you only have to change the water when you do not like looking at the alage or dirt on the stones or glass, the betta does not care how dirty or how much alage is on the glass.

What fish do not need a pump for example the betta fish or Siamese fighter What about guppies?

I don't know what beta fish are but I can assure you something. All fishes need a pump for a healthier living. Only one Siamese fighter can be put in a tank. It is better to use a bowl for this. Water should be changed every 2 weeks. If these conditions are satisfied the fish will be fine. I am a successful breeder of guppies. As far as I know It is is advised to have green plants rather than a pump in their tanks.

Your betta fish lives in a oxygenated fish tank and when you feed him th food gets push to floor does he still eat enough?

I would be inclined to suggest you turn the air pump off. Bettas do not like or need that kind of disturbance (heaps of rising bubbles) in their tank and it will certainly be doing the fish no good. If you drive a filter with your air pump you will be doing something positive that will benefit the fish. Any food left in the tank must be syphoned out immediately after the 15 minutes you should allow for the fish to eat what you give it. Failure to do this will eventually result in poisoned water and dead fish.

What type of fish get along with bettas?

Well with a male NOTHING! Well it depends on what the attitude of the male betta fish is. To be safe though do not put anthing with a male. As for a female you can put a lot of fish. Here are just a few, Guppie, another female betta (up to 3)(not male) there are a lot of others I just can't think of them right now sorry!

Do you need an air pump for betta breeding?

Yes because with more than one fish they use up a lot of oxygen, especially in a fish bowl, in which there is not enough oxygen for one fish, because the top is more narrow than the bottom. Air pumps are cheap and a filter oxygenates the water too!
