Yes some medications for high blood pressure can cause a person to experience insomnia, especially if they are the type that help the body to lose extra fluid, ie. causing a person to get up several times during the night to urinate. At the hospital we try to administer this type by 6 am so the patient can sleep at night. You might want to check with your physcian rearding the best time to take your med.
